New Delhi: Delhi govt has urged schools under it to participate in the Adopt A School initiative, which enables CSR and NGO funding to the institutions through the central Vidyanjali portal.

The portal was launched by Union govt to encourage community participation in education. A circular by Delhi’s Directorate of Education (DoE) saiys the move aligns with the National Education Policy, which underscores the importance of volunteerism and public-private partnerships in transforming the education landscape.

The module allows schools to partner with external contributors for long-term support, whether through funding, resource enhancement or co-curricular initiatives.

The circular clarifies that all proposals must be routed through the platform for transparency. The school and the funding organisation must complete all the documentation online.

The circular highlights that assets procured or created under such collaborations should, as far as possible, be covered under a manufacturer’s warranty to ensure quality and reduce maintenance costs.
