Jaipur: Govt schoolteachers in the state have demanded that transfers of Grade 3 teachers be carried out before the implementation of transfer policy. Teachers said that with the implementation of policy, fair transfers would be conducted. However, as the policy implementation is getting delayed, teachers have insisted that Grade 3 teachers should be transferred beforehand.
State president of Rajasthan Shikshak Sangh (Rashtriya), Ramesh Pushkarna, said, “We have written to the state govt to initiate the transfer process for Grade-III teachers before the transfer policy is implemented, so that such teachers get some relief. Teachers who were doing good work but were transferred due to ideological differences with the govt are being punished unnecessarily.”
Pushkarna said that with the transfer of Grade-III teachers, all teachers will be at the same level based on merit, and once the policy is implemented, it will be followed for future transfers. Transfer of Grade-III teachers has been on hold in the state for over eight years, due to which teachers have staged protests and boycotts at frequent intervals since 2023.
With the transfer of over 4,500 principals done in the third week of Sept, teachers are hoping that the process of transfer of Grade-III teachers will also be conducted within a few months.
Vipin Prakash Sharma, state president of Rajasthan Primary and Secondary Teachers Association, said, “Names for transfer of teachers from local leaders, MLAs were sought in May-June itself, and it is being processed slowly. The education minister has also recently said that the process of transfers has started, and it will continue. Due to this, we are hoping that the transfer of Grade-III teachers will be conducted within a few months.”
