SSC MTS 2025 and CBIC Havaldar Result 2026 declared, over 8 lakh candidates appeared in examination

SSC MTS Result 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared the result of the Computer Based Examination for the Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (MTS) and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination 2025. The result has been announced to shortlist candidates for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) for the Havaldar post. The written examination result was released on August 3, 2026.According to the official notification, the recruitment drive received 36,19,834 applications. The Computer Based Examination was conducted from February 4 to February 20, 2026, at centres across the country, with 8,04,633 candidates appearing. SSC stated that marks were normalised because the examination was conducted in multiple shifts. Candidates have been shortlisted for Havaldar PET/PST in a 1:7 vacancy-to-candidate ratio based on their Session II normalised scores.Key examination highlightsThe recruitment includes Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial posts in various Government of India ministries, departments and offices, along with Havaldar vacancies under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and the Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN). Candidates were considered only for the post-cum-CCAs they selected while submitting their online application forms.

Cut-off criteria and shortlisted candidatesCandidates were required to secure at least 30 per cent marks in both sessions for the UR category, 25 per cent for OBC and EWS candidates, and 20 per cent for all other categories. SSC provisionally shortlisted 8,071 candidates for the Havaldar PET/PST, including 3,136 under the UR category, 1,659 OBC, 882 SC, 840 EWS and 609 ST candidates, besides candidates from ESM and PwBD categories.SSC clarified that candidates failing the PET/PST will not be considered for the Havaldar post. However, if they qualify for MTS, their candidature for that post will remain valid. The tentative allocation result for both MTS and Havaldar will be announced after completion of the physical tests.Other important updatesThe Commission withheld the results of two candidates because of suspicious activities. It also did not process the results of 727 candidates after post-examination analysis found them involved in malpractice. In addition, the results of 169 candidates were debarred by regional offices for various reasons.SSC said representations on the provisional answer keys were examined and necessary revisions were incorporated before evaluation. The schedule for the Havaldar PET/PST will be published separately on the Commission’s website. Final answer keys and marks of qualified and non-qualified candidates will be uploaded after the declaration of the final recruitment result.
